Elvis Has Left the Building

At work, we take Halloween pretty damn seriously. This year, in honor of our seamstress, Inge-who LOVES Elvis, we zipped ourselves into jumpsuits, curled our lips, and listened to E's CDs all day long.  It was a great day.
Inge is a very special lady.  She came to the United States from Germany when she was 19 years old.  She had married a GI who promised her a mansion in Colorado.  She came here not speaking a word of English, but soon taught herself not only how to speak English, but to write it as well.

The mansion turned out to be a two room shack and what she thought was her knight in shining armor turned out to be a douche bag covered in tin foil.  Inge and her GI had five children before divorcing.  She then began the task of raising those children alone.  Inge and her family struggled, but they survived.  She is one tough cookie.
Inge has taught me many things besides German cuss words.  I have tons of respect for her and am grateful that she is a part of my life.  I'm also glad she loves Elvis, cause we totally rocked those jumpsuits.
